College Deals Postcard

The Heavenly College Sales department needed a simple handout to promote their college-related events. It needed to be eye-catching with a college feel, and incorporate the great Terrain Park photography by Terren Gomez.

On the front, I decided to go with a nice bright, daytime photo, so the text would really pop. I chose a photo of Nick Poohachoff launching off one of Heavenly’s recycled features. I used a grungy heading text and offset the letters to give it a little more pop.

For the back, I chose a darker sunset shot, and cropped it to leave room for the text on the right. Even though it was dark, there was still a lot of detail in the photo, which made the text harder to read. I solved this problem by adding a dark box behind the text and making it semi-transparent. The font on this side is less grungy and easier to read in smaller point sizes.
